当地时间6日，据美国有线电视新闻网（CNN）消息，美国白宫新闻秘书普萨基（Jen Psaki）表示，拜登政府将不会派出美国官方代表团参加2022年北京冬奥会，以此正式宣布美国“外交抵制”北京冬奥会。

这就代表美国不参加本次北京冬奥会了吗？呵呵，事实正相反，美国政府大力支持本国运动员参加冬奥会。
据英国广播公司（BBC）报道，白宫表示，美国运动员可以参加冬奥会，并得到拜登政府的全力支持。
But it said US athletes could attend and would have the government's full support.
美国“政治”网站（Politico）援引国际奥委会委员、前国际奥委会副主席迪克·庞德（Dick Pound）的话称，拜登政府的行为基本不会对中国产生影响。
“这是一种政府表明他们不赞成中国某个特定政策的方式，这是否会对中国产生影响是所有人的猜测。而我会说，基本上，不会。”

体育运动不应被政治化是国际社会的共同认知。美国借人权议题给北京冬奥会贴上政治标签，作为其自身的政治工具，已经严重违背了国际奥林匹克精神。
美西方政客以一已私利为出发点，煽动抵制北京冬奥会，从短期看，对本国运动员的职业生涯造成了伤害；从长远看，是以伤害自身公信力甚至国际信誉为代价的，必然会引起国际社会多数成员的反感和反对。
