Nancy Pelosi is not only the third person in the US political hierarchy, she is also the richest person in congress. American media has estimated Pelosi's wealth to be over $100 million, with an annual salary of around $200,000. The vast majority of the Pelosi family's wealth comes from the stock options and investments of Nancy's husband, Paul Pelosi.

In June of last year, just before the US Congress decided to launch anti-trust measures against the silicon valley giants, Paul made a $5.3 million windfall trading in Alphabet, Google's parent company. Previously, Paul had also bought more than tens of thousands of dollars in Tesla stocks. 

Shortly afterwards, the Biden administration signed an executive order requiring all federal vehicles to be electric vehicles, which saw Tesla's stocks sharply rising in price. The Pelosi couple also gained a windfall from this.

Beyond this, the Pelosi couple is also heavily invested in the silicon chip market. On June 17th of this year, Paul purchased stocks of computer chip darling Nvidia worth up to $5 million. This was just as the US Congress was on the verge of passing tens of billions of dollars in subsidies for US semiconductor makers. 

Since Paul’s investment, Nividia stocks have gone up over 10 percent. Public discourse has heavily focused on the likelihood that Nancy Pelosi had leaked advanced information to her husband. Under pressure, Paul was forced to sell the Nividia stocks before the passing of the bill at a loss. 

American democracy has already been infested with the stench of corruption. Nancy Pelosi has boasted in an interview that she has a $24,000 refrigerator filled with luxury ice cream in her house. One must wonder if she also sighed 'what a beautiful sight' when she looked down from her mansion at California's oppressed underclass. 

According to publicly available information, in 2022 the Taiwan Democracy Foundation had a budget of 130 million NTD. If we look at the detailed budget reports at the US's second CIA, the National Endowment for Democracy, the US think tanks International Republican Institute, and National Democratic Institute had a budget of 199,200,000 NTD. 

This is mostly used to purchase speakers and attendance in events hosted by these organizations. These NED and think tanks events commonly feature American politicians. In the name of proselytizing "democracy," money is transferred to these American politicians. This is how Taiwan uses dollars to buy so-called 'international recognition'. 

According to data from the General Administration of Customs, Chinese mainland imported 160 million NTD in pineapples from Taiwan in 2020. Every year, the money earned from the pineapples that farmers work hard to grow is siphoned off by Tsai Ing-Wen and given to American politicians. In Taiwan, it appears that democracy does have a price tag. 

At 82 years old this year, Pelosi, who has served as the speaker of the House of Representatives for four terms, plans to retire after this Congress. During her reign, Pelosi pushed legislation in support of Hong Kong rioters and separatist forces in Tibet. She has also hosted the religious fundamentalist Dalai on Capitol Hill and called for a boycott of the Beijing Winter Olympics. 

Pelosi, disguising herself in the guise of 'democracy', has ransacked her country domestically and profiteered internationally through her 'Taiwan visit'. The political legacy of Pelosi certainly has been a lot of dollars.
